Introducing BloodLine:
In response to the growing urgency of blood shortages in the Philippines, we've developed a novel web application to bridge the gap between blood donors and recipients, and facilitate access to blood bank facilities in an efficient manner.
• Check our AVP: Video Presentation
• Geolocation Services: Utilizing GPS technology, our application identifies your location in real-time, pinpointing the nearest blood bank facilities based on your unique blood type requirements.
• Blood Type Filtering: Understanding the criticality of blood type matching in emergencies, our app employs an advanced filtering system. This ensures that the routing provided prioritizes the blood bank facilities with supplies of the blood type you need.
• Real-Time Blood Availability: We strive to deliver precise and real-time data regarding blood supplies. BloodLine establishes a direct link with registered blood banks, providing instant updates on the availability of specific blood types.
• Directions and Navigation: A single tap activates our app's optimized routing system, directing you to the nearest blood bank facility stocked with your required blood type.
• Messaging Feature: Beyond mere routing, our app incorporates a simplified messaging system for seamless communication with blood bank officials for additional inquiries.
BloodLine aims to streamline and enhance the process of blood donation and supply, making it quicker, more precise, and user-friendly.
With BloodLine, you're not just using an app; you're contributing to a vital cause and potentially saving lives.

• User Profile: The effectiveness of the application relies on the accuracy of the user's profile information, particularly the specified blood type. Users must ensure that their blood type is correctly entered or updated in their profiles. Providing incorrect information could lead to mismatching search results.
• Availability and Timeliness: The application draws upon real-time data shared by registered blood bank facilities. It's important to note, however, that the effectiveness of this inventory depends on the active participation of the facility manager or representative who has signed up with our platform. Given the dynamic nature of blood donation and usage, the availability of specific blood types can fluctuate due to ongoing donations, usage rates, and emergencies. While our application strives to provide current information, the confirmation of the availability of your required blood type should be obtained directly from the blood bank facility.
• Geographic Coverage: The application's functionality depends on the availability and integration of data from blood bank facilities. It may not cover all regions or facilities worldwide. The application's effectiveness is determined by the coverage and availability of data in a particular geographic area. Users should be aware that some blood bank facilities may not be included in the application's database, especially in remote or underrepresented areas.
• Accessibility and Connectivity: To use the web application effectively, users must have access to the internet and a compatible device such as a computer or smartphone. Additionally, the application relies on location services to provide accurate results, so users should ensure their location settings are enabled on their devices for optimal performance.
• Emergency Situations: While the application is designed to assist in locating blood bank facilities, it is important to note that it should not be solely relied upon during emergency situations. In critical or life-threatening situations, it is recommended to contact emergency services or medical professionals directly to ensure the most appropriate response.
• Data Accuracy and Reliability: The application strives to provide reliable and accurate information about blood bank facilities and their available blood types. However, occasional inaccuracies or delays in data updates may occur due to technical issues, maintenance, or other unforeseen circumstances. Users are encouraged to cross-verify information with the respective blood bank facility whenever possible.
• Routing Servers: Our application is built on robust yet humble foundations to serve your needs efficiently. We currently utilize two servers to manage the load and ensure seamless operation - one is a home setup and the other is a virtual private server (VPS). This two-pronged setup allows us to handle a significant number of requests while ensuring optimal performance. However, it's important to note that due to the modest specifications of our servers, there may be times when a sudden surge in requests could potentially lead to some challenges. In the unlikely event that both of our servers are temporarily unavailable, the application will default to the demo server of OSRMv1. This server, although not actively maintained, serves as our fallback to ensure continuity of service.
• Data Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA): At BloodLine, we place a high value on the security and privacy of all user data. Our key focus lies in maintaining the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of all data within our system. As developers, we technically have access to all data. However, it's crucial to mention that we commit to respecting your privacy and strictly limit our access to situations that are absolutely necessary. This principle guides our approach across all the following areas:
• Confidentiality: We ensure that access to data provided by our application is limited solely to logged in and registered users. This measure guarantees that your personal data remains confidential and secure at all times.
• Integrity: Users alone have the authority to modify their personal profile data, maintaining the integrity of their information. Additionally, blood bank data in our system is managed solely by designated managers of each facility. This ensures the accuracy of the blood bank information, preventing unauthorized alterations.
• Availability: We prioritize making accurate and timely data available to our users. In the context of our blood bank inventory, the responsibility of updating rests exclusively with the designated managers of each blood bank facility. This process ensures the most accurate and real-time availability of blood supplies.
We appreciate your understanding and patience in this regard as we continue to work towards improving our infrastructure for a seamless user experience.
